The Travel Factor
Life is a beautiful gift, but it can catch up with us all.  You are not alone in the fact that you would like to get away to recalibrate yourself.  Travel is a basic human desire, and it generates countless benefits.  You pay more attention to subtleties - your awareness is heightened.  It is easy to overlook the cursory details throughout our day to day routines, or to overlook our own cursory details.  Traveling is a way give yourself the opportunity to experience that heightened awareness and develop your own self-awareness.
It is advantageous to be willing and able to see the world from others' perspectives to be open.  To immerse yourself in another culture allows you to experience different priority sets, and you can compare your own way of life.  What is working for you?  What might you want to change?  We are better equipped to make informed decisions in our lives when we cultivate our self-awareness and an openness to other perspectives.  Traveling is an excellent way to ignite this.
Art
Art-making as therapy instills a belief in the inherent healing power of the creative process. This view embraces the idea that the process of making art is therapeutic. Art making is seen as an opportunity to express oneself imaginatively, authentically, and spontaneously, an experience that can lead to personal fulfillment, emotional reparation, and transformation.
The art image becomes significant in enhancing verbal exchange between individuals to achieve insight; resolve conflicts; solve problems; and formulate new perceptions that in turn lead to positive changes, growth and healing.
This is not meant to be an escape from your issues; rather, it is when we have the opportunity to distance ourselves that we are able to look at the whole picture.  Through Artful Expeditions you have the support of your group members, the guidance and encouragement of an art therapist, and the inspiration of new surroundings to achieve personal growth.
